The Department of Microbiology and Immunology is home to a diverse cohort of postdoctoral trainees and senior scientists hailing from across the US and around the world. Postdocs and scientists work in the labs of faculty with primary or secondary appointments in the Department. Our postdoc community is spread across Emory’s Atlanta campus and at the Atlanta Veteran Affairs Hospital.
Postdocs and scientists benefit from resources at Emory for additional training and career development. These opportunities and other events are coordinated by the Office of Postdoctoral Education and the Staff Scientist Office. The M&I Postdoc Club and the Emory University Postdoctoral Association support the community within the Department and across campus, respectively.
M&I Postdoc Club:
The M&I Postdoc Club serves to foster community among the postdocs and scientists in the Department. The Club meets monthly during Fall and Spring semesters to share ongoing research, prepare for job interviews, learn about career opportunities, and celebrate successes. An annual Symposium allows postdocs and scientists to present their research to the entire Department and invite a renowned scientist for a keynote address.
