Emory University School of Medicine, a component of Emory's Robert W. Woodruff Health Sciences Center, is ranked among the nation's finest institutions for biomedical education. The School of Medicine is located on the main Emory University campus in the Druid Hills section of Atlanta and in Emory-owned and affiliated medical facilities throughout metropolitan Atlanta.
The School of Medicine offers one of the largest postdoctoral training programs in the country. The Emory University School of Medicine Residency Training Program has more than 1,000 residents and fellows in more than 80 residency/fellowship training programs. These programs are recognized toward the fulfillment of the requirements of the respective specialty certification boards. The residency training program and its affiliated hospitals participate in the National Residency Matching Program and offer over 200 first-year positions.
