About
We are looking for color vision deficient Emergency Medicine providers to test the feasibility of wearing EnChroma glasses, glasses that are designed to improve color vision for color vision deficient people. The tests will evaluate any subjective effect that they have on patient care. This study has been approved by the Emory IRB (Grady review is pending).
Interested participants should take a screening color vision test and email Dr. Jeff Siegelman a copy of the results. All volunteers testing positive for red-green color blindness (deuteron- or protanomaly), the condition under study, will have a formal intake vision exam.
EnChroma will provide indoor glasses to all volunteers free of charge, made to your prescription. After acclimatizing to the glasses, you will wear them for two weeks in the emergency department and in your personal life. Afterward, you will be surveyed about your experience.
Eligibility
All providers age 18-65 working clinically in the emergency department, without chronic ophthalmologic conditions.
Benefits
EnChroma glasses will be provided, no-cost eye examination
Time commitment
2 weeks of wearing the glasses
