1 Lam, Ofotokun and Fallin elected to National Academy of Medicine (NAM)
Congratulations to Wilbur Lam (biomedical engineering, pediatrics), Ighovwerha Ofotokun (medicine/infectious diseases), and M. Daniele Fallin, PhD (Dean, Rollins School of Public Health), who were among the 90 regular members and 10 internal members elected to the National Academy of Medicine in 2023. Their election was announced during the National Academy of Medicine’s annual meeting today. 2 Gichoya named emerging leader by the NAM
The National Academy of Medicine has named Judy Wawira Gichoya (radiology), one of 10 Emerging Leaders in Health and Medicine Program for 2023. This initiative “provides a platform for a new generation of leaders to collaborate with the academy and its members to advance science, combat persistent challenges in health and medicine, and spark transformative change to improve health for all.”
3 Kimberly Cross named new leader of Medical Imaging Program
I am pleased to share that Kimberly Cross was named the Medical Imaging Program Director. Cross replaces Ted Brzinski who led the program for 6 years. Join me in congratulating Kimberly and thanking Ted for his outstanding leadership and contributions to this program. The Medical Imaging Program is currently a finalist for best Radiologic Sciences Program nationally at AuntMinnie.com; winners will be announced in late October.

5 The Well-Being Survey continues
ICYMI: WHSC Office of Well-Being (EmWELL) has launched the inaugural well-being survey targeting all employees, including faculty and staff at Emory School of Medicine. The findings will help inform the strategy and prioritize actions for EmWELL, as well as system and local leadership. Complete the survey before October 22 for a chance to win a $25 gift card.
