Research Areas

Our faculty consist of clinical and basic science investigators who conduct a broad range of basic, translational and clinical research on a variety of human malignancies. Through novel discoveries, we are leading the way to a better understanding and improved detection and treatment of cancer.

The Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship Program offered by Emory University School of Medicine and Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University provides clinical and research training in hematology and medical oncology.

Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University

Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University is Georgia's only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center and serves as the coordinating center for cancer research, education and care throughout Emory University.

Upcoming Symposium

The Winship Melanoma and Cutaneous Oncology Symposium serves as a valuable forum for the presentation and discussion of newly available data. Participants will be provided with an update on practice-changing data in a practical and interactive format, fostering discussion and impacting clinical outcomes for patients with melanoma and other cutaneous malignancies.

The symposium will be held on March 2, 2024 at the Emory Conference Center Hotel. Registration to open in fall 2023.

Two Emory College juniors receive prestigious Goldwater Scholarship Apr. 10, 2024

Emory College juniors Julianna Cruz and Satvik Elayavalli are recipients of the 2024 Goldwater Scholarship, the nation’s top scholarship for undergraduates in math, natural sciences and engineering.

Emory innovations and their inventors recognized at annual ceremony Apr. 1, 2024

Entrepreneurial faculty and their discoveries were recognized on March 21 at the Office of Technology Transfer’s 18th Annual Celebration of Technology and Innovation. Awardees specialize in a range of disciplines including disease detection and therapeutics, cybersecurity and more.
