Dr. Dhillon attended Government Medical College affiliated with Panjab University in Chandigarh, India where she obtained her MD degree. She then completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. She went on to complete the following fellowships: Palliative and Symptom Control Fellowship at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX; Drug and Development Fellowship, Department of Investigational Cancer Therapeutics (Division of Cancer Medicine) at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX; Medical Oncology Fellowship at the University of California at San Francisco Medical Center in San Francisco, CA. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hospice and Palliative Care.
Dr. Dhillon continues to focus her research interests toward traditional Phase 1 clinical trials including first in man drug development. She is part of the drug development and therapeutics core at Winship Cancer Institute. Her clinical focus is in treating patients with breast cancer as well as patients with melanoma. She is the primary site investigator for 5 clinical trials which include multi-center NCI sponsored trials. She works closely with basic scientists to translate discoveries from bench to bedside and back.
