Programs of Study/Admissions

The combined MD/MPH degree may be earned in five years. Up to three students annually are awarded tuition scholarships for the MPH year. Other scholarship opportunities for the MPH year are available through the School of Public Health. Students usually earn their MPH during an entire year between the third and fourth years of medical school.

  • MD/PhD - Doctor of Medicine/Doctor of Philosophy (Medical Scientist Training Program)
    The MD/PhD Program (Medical Scientist Training Program) is designed for highly qualified students who want to prepare for careers as investigators and teachers in academic medicine and biomedical research. Learn about the program’s in-depth, high-caliber predoctoral research training and medical education. Dual degree candidates apply to the program through the School of Medicine. See Admissions.
  • Allied Health Programs
    Emory School of Medicine offers five degree programs in the Allied Health professions. These degrees include the Master of Medical Science (MMSc) degree obtained through the anesthesiology/patient monitoring systems program, physician assistant program, or ophthalmic technology program; as well as the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree obtained through the physical therapy program. The school also offers the undergraduate Bachelor of Medical Science
    (BMSc) degree in medical imaging. Interested applicants must apply directly through the program's admissions office. See Admissions.
