Options for Graduate Study

Students may choose to pursue the Ph.D. from one of the following graduate programs.

Graduate Division of Biological and Biomedical Sciences

The Rollins School of Public Health

The Emory University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences

The Georgia Tech/Emory University Biomedical Engineering Department and the Georgia Institute of Technology

In 1997, the Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University established a new combined Department of Biomedical Engineering staffed by faculty from both institutions. This Department represents the strong commitment that both Emory and Georgia Tech have toward enhancing research in the biomedical and bioengineering sciences, and will significantly enhance research and education opportunities in these areas. The Program is currently ranked #2 in the nation for biomedical engineering graduate programs by the US News and World Report.

Those choosing a non-traditional area of Ph.D. study (outside of the laboratory or life sciences) should contact the MD/PhD Program for instructions on applying as the normal process may not apply.
