Patricia Haugaard is Assistant Dean for Research Administration at Emory University School of Medicine. In this capacity she assists the Executive Associate Dean for Research in the oversight of operational activities of the School’s Research Office including Space assignment, Service Center management, IRB, IACUC, Proposal review for CAS exceptions and research compliance training. She represents the Research office on many School of Medicine and University committees and serves as a resource for faculty and staff. Ms. Haugaard provides frequent training for the faculty, and staff on effort certification and she coordinates the School of Medicine Research Administrators monthly meetings.
Ms Haugaard received her BS in Secondary Education from Wayne State College in Nebraska. She began her career in academic administration at the University of Iowa, serving there six years before joining the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in the School of Medicine at Emory in 1985. In 1996 she became the Senior Clinical Administrator in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral and in 2002 added the duties of Vice Chair for Administration. She was appointed Assistant Dean for Research Administration in the School of Medicine in July of 2004. |
