Haian Fu, Ph.D., is the leader for the Winship Cancer Institute's Discovery & Developmental Therapeutics Program. He is also the director for the Emory Chemical Biology Discovery Center, a professor in the Department of Hematology & Oncology and the Department of Pharmacology. Fu serves on two national steering committees in the U.S. - the National Cancer Institute's Chemical Biology Consortium Steering Committee and the NCI Cancer Target Discovery & Development Network Steering Committee. He served as the president of the International Chemical Biology Society from 2012-2013. His research focuses on protein-protein interactions in signal transuction, targeting these interactions for drug discovery, and collaborating with physician scientists to translate such bench research to clinical applications.
Fu earned his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He completed a fellowship in microbiology and molecular genetics at Harvard Medical School.
